Welcome to Day 3 of KMKanDrum's Dishwalla Week!! I will be releasing a cover each day this week of one of my favorite albums from one of my favorite bands ever, Dishwalla's "Pet Your Friends."
George Pendergast (drums) and J.R. Richardson (vocals) helped shape the musician I am today in a HUGE way. I was lucky enough to see them live a few times when they played at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Their mega-hit "Counting Blue Cars" put them on the map, but the entire album is phenomenal and the drums are just amazing, both in sound and performance. Their follow-up album, "And You Think You Know What Life's About," is great too, but not nearly as iconic and monumental as "Pet Your Friends."
Today, I cover the album's third track, "Counting Blue Cars" on drums, vocals, bass, keyboards, and acoustic guitar. It also features my good buddy, Mike Bedrossian on electric guitars This was, by far, their biggest song and only hit. It's a shame because all their songs are pretty awesome. I hope you enjoy this one!
