New KMKanDrum Playlist to Check Out!

I created this YouTube playlist so that I could compile all the covers that I've done where I thought I could improve upon the drums or programmed beats of the original song. Some of the original drums are good but maybe needed a little change. Others are, sorry to say, downright bad.

For example, I know Sixpence None The Richer has a drummer but I believe at the time they recorded "Breathe Your Name" either they didn't have one or he was unable to record drums because that track has programmed drums on it. Either that or the drums are so processed that they sound completely robotic and mechanical. I actually really like that song and it bothers me that there isn't real drums on the track. So, I decided to remedy that. And I am pretty happy with what I came up with. Of course, it's not perfect but it's markedly better than what is there originally.

The same goes for the Swing Out Sister song, "Breakout." For that one, I can't tell if the drums are programmed or if the drummer just decided to keep it really simple and basic.

One song that I can say where I absolutely cannot stand the original drums is Avril Lavigne's "Complicated." I know that is also a programmed beat, but it is so horrible it actually detracts from the song's feel. The same can be said for the programmed drums on Harry Style's song, "Late Night Talking" and "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" from the Disney film, Lilo & Stitch.

In some songs, the drums are okay. "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness. The drums are fine on that one, but I felt it needed a little kick. The same goes for "Sanctuary" by The Cult.

Anyway, have a listen and let me know what you think!
